The Josh Duggar Effect- Trapped by your “Testimony”

Our testimony is never a statement about us but always about Jesus. It should never define us, control us or eliminate grace from our lives. When our past “testimony” controls our ability to be honest and makes our Christian walk a façade, then we are no longer walking by faith but by fear and the approval of others.

Scars Tell a Story

As we walk through this world we will be emotionally and spiritually wounded. I believe we would all choose a different path where there were no wounds, hurts or pain but it does not exist. We can, however, choose how we deal with these wounds. When we take those wounds to our heavenly Father, He turns them into a scar that makes us unique and special.

You Ain’t From Around Here

A few weeks ago the Supreme Court of the United States made a decision and ruling regarding the definition of marriage. With this ruling came floods of opinions that hit every form of communication known to man. For some people there was dancing in the street with celebratory chants while others wept and viewed this as the final nail in the coffin of a God fearing nation.

Deflated Integrity

We have been trying to trick our selves into believing we can hide from God ever since Adam and Eve attempted hide and go seek with the Father. Lets blow up our deluded definition of integrity and let’s try a new and more accurate one. Integrity is what we do when only God is watching.

Through the Lying Eyes of Pornography/Part one:

I struggled through many relationships in my early adulthood. Rejection after rejection made my escape to pornography a habit. I didn’t have to wonder what those women thought. Their eyes were always approving. Never rejecting. I feared rejection so much I often, very painfully, broke off relationships so I could say I wasn’t the one to get dumped.

Slavery- Part 2- Finding True Freedom

The blessing for me is my restoration is not built on some “spiritual high” that will fade. God’s grace is sufficient for everything that any of us are struggling with and whatever wasteland we have created he will give us a stream that provides life. What we do with that life is our choice. Gods grace is sufficient, but it’s his truth that will set us free. One of my favorite worship songs says it this way “My chains are gone, I’ve been set free. My savior, God, has ransomed me. And like a flood, his mercy rains. Unending love, Amazing Grace”. Today, I choose a true freedom.
