You Are Not Alone

Andy and Tammy Reid faced the greatest terror that a parent could ever experience. All parents, from the moment the child is conceived, want to protect their children from all harm, injury, and most importantly death. We want to protect them from external and internal forces that could harm them. The Reid family battled with both of these forces regarding their son’s drug addiction. The external temptation of drug usage as a means of coping with and escaping the difficulties of life can be tremendous. The internal lies we tell ourselves keep us walled off from the people close to us and lead us into isolation, despair and self destruction. When the external temptations line up with our internal lies then the ending result can be deadly. Andy and Tammy Reid loved their son and battled with all their strength to save him.

Her world is often consumed by guilt, shame and embarrassment. She often blames herself for not seeing “the warning signs” of her husband’s secret sin. Most often she feels alone in her struggle and afraid to share her plight because of how others may respond or how it will affect her children and the family’s reputation in the church.

Many people struggle with sexual sin because of an absent or abusive father. Therefore, it would only make good sense that a remedy, not an instant cure, for that pain is to call on your true Father.

February Newsletter – Priest, Provider, Protector

The Priest is the leader of his home. He will pray over his wife and children and find opportunities to teach God’s goodness to them. The Provider addresses the financial, emotional and relational needs a family has. A financial provider is quickly misunderstood because of how our culture has the needs and wants intertwined. The Protector is the one that looks out for the family’s best interest for the physical, relational and emotional state and direction of the family. An example of this is a father setting the tone for godly morals in the home.
