David

David has been married to his wife Dawn for twenty-eight years. They have four adult children, two young men and two young women. They are also the proud grandparents of five grandsons.

David’s early career was that of a truck driver delivery man for a cookie company. At forty David, with his wife’s support, enrolled in seminary full time. Three years later in 2004 he graduated and was ordained as an associate pastor at the church he had attended and served at for over twenty years.

In December 2010 everything came crashing down for David. David was asked to resign. Not long after that he found himself with no church, no job and no home. Some months later as a result of the encouragement of his family and a few close friends he applied to LIA for the thirty day program.

Those thirty days were instrumental in helping him gain an understanding of addiction, intimacy disorders and family/generational patterns. More than that David was provided hope through the foundational truths
of God’s forgiveness and faithfulness.

Dawn

My name is Dawn. I am a wife, mother, nurse and a grandmother of five boys. We bought our first home in the same village I was born and raised in. I always dreamed of raising a family in one house my children could call home.

My life appeared stable as we went about our busy lives, connected to families, church and community.

I always felt confident in managing our life changes, but when I was confronted with the knowledge of my husband’s secret life and sin, I found myself on a journey that only God could manage.

I attended Love in Action’s Four Day Intensive Program for women. I remember thinking How thankful I was that I was going to be able to share my story and pain without feeling ashamed.

Love in Action was the very beginning steps in my journey of healing. What I learned and experienced at Love in Action helped restore me to a deeper relationship with God and healthy relationships with others.
